Our Team
WILLIAM M. LOSCOTOFF, ESQ
William “Bill” Loscotoff has been litigating subrogation matters since his admission to the bar in 2003. His practice focuses primarily on residential and commercial property losses. He handles an array of complex cases involving product defects, negligence, public entities, private utilities and catastrophic explosion and wildfire related claims. Bill’s extensive experience includes: trial, mediation and arbitration in state and federal courts.
Throughout his career, Bill has been involved in litigating numerous cases against public and private utilities starting with the 2001 Poe Fire and continuing through the 2017/2018 catastrophic southern and northern California wildfires. He has vast experience with inverse condemnation. Of particular note, prior to the 2007 San Diego wildfires, Bill and his co-counsel argued in a complex fire case that a utility should have de-energized threatened distribution and transmission lines to prevent foreseeable equipment failure and resultant damage. While the court felt the legislature better suited to determine the issue, the novel argument helped to formulate and shape current utility practices. This innovative legal strategy is typical of Bill in his representation of client’s claims.
His skill and dedication have generated significant recoveries and earned the trust and admiration of the firm’s long-standing clients and respect from counsel on both sides of the aisle. Bill continues to provide insightful guidance and training on complex and developing subrogation issues to clients and staff.
